I’ve never experienced hospitality quite like the Royal Orchid Sheraton, located on the river in the heart of Bangkok. Spectacular views and convenient location aside, the staff went above and beyond to make my (and bosom buddy Tara)’s stay as comfortable as possible. Even the General Manager (who I likened to a ninja that never sleeps and pops up without fuss) was there to ensure all was picture perfect for all his guests. And it was. These images were snapped in the exec lounge in the hotel x dinner at Nahm restaurant.
Foodie die hards be warned – your expectations will be exceeded at Nahm in the Metropolitan by COMO hotel. This award winning venue (named one of Asia’s 50 best restaurants by Restaurant Magazine) offers traditional Thai flavours with a sharp modern flair. From the starters to the dessert, I couldn’t help but devour as much of these delectable dishes as my stomach would allow. My favourite was the roast duck soup combined with young coconut, chilli and Thai basil. The cherry on the cake? After we stuffed our faces the man behind the scrumptious meal emerged – Aussie chef David Thompson. His tales from the kitchen including a story about super hot chilli testing were so entertaining!
