It’s never easy finding that balance between what you want to wear, and what you can wear to work. Women are expected to be glamorous and professional at the same time, but they don’t always mix!
I have a full-time job where I need to look professional, so when it comes to hair, I’ve never dared to think that I could off a hair trend like this at work:
Which means that I’ve always stuck to the straight and narrow with classic black and a bit of curl:
However, I’ve been dying for a makeover since the stunning Goldwell Colorzoom 2013 show, so when I was offered a Goldwell Colorzoom Experience I couldn’t refuse.
I was in the very capable hands of Education Manager Beng-Lee (who trains Goldwell stylists from salons across Singapore) as he adapted Goldwell’s 2013 BEAUTIFY theme (apt for my poor dull hair), which is all about unconventional shades and the ethnic trend that we’ve seen across fashion.
Here’s what happened next….
And the results? *drumroll*…..
I am LOVING the new look. The top layer is a rustic brown (that I think could be my new staple colour) with berry hues blended from the roots to the tips of the lower layers. The colours are intentionally diluted for more of a watercolour effect.
To keep my colour going for as long as possible, I’m applying copious amounts of the Elumen salon range that lock in colour from shampoo to shine. It smells so good that I have NO excuse not to take care of my hair! However, if you can’t get your hands on this you can try the Dualsense Color Extra Rich range – with FadeStopFormula and ColorChromaComplex for long-lasting colour.
Thank you to Beng-Lee from Goldwell for his patience and sense of humour, and thanks to Rachel & Tsz In from BrandStory for organising everything and keeping us company at Goldwell HQ.
