In South East Asia, we’re often complaining when it comes to the Autumn Winter collections because let’s face it – why should we go back to blacks and don heavy knits just because the northern hemisphere is cold? But when it comes to slipping into something glamorous for Singapore’s heat there’s really nothing more appropriate than a floral silk two-piece.
The instant we got to St James Power Station we were drawn to this hawker centre, with its Bangkok-style stalls on the backs of motorbikes and gas lamps that are more Singapore 50 years ago than today. Apart from the allure of barbecued stingray with a cold Tiger beer, the bright colours of a food market are the perfect background to highlight this season’s berry hues.
