We nearly couldn’t bring you the Longchamp AW14 collection thanks to an untimely computer glitch, but we couldn’t possibly miss this update.
Longchamp may have released an Asian-influenced version of the famous Le Pliage bag for the Year of the Horse this year, but they’ve still kept a very French feel for AW14. The entire collection is themed around the two personalities of Paris: the artsy left bank (Rive Gauche) and the classic right bank (Rive Droite).
The very distinct personalities of the two parts of Paris come through with a remake of the the signature Le Pliage in (the softest) jersey for each side of the river, as well as through the use of warmer colours for the left bank and cooler colours for the right.
We absolutely love the new luxe editions of the Le Pliage Heritage, which come in a stiff leather or pony hair. These multi-purpose bags exude Parisian day-to-night chic with their classic colours and prints. If fashion is the in the details, the colourful edging and interior lining make this bag.
The men don’t miss out on the colourful fun with plenty of work bags sporting similar accents in cobalt blue on buttery soft leather. We suggest that you don’t touch it in the store…because you might not be able to stop.
Even if you’re not a Le Pliage fan, the dangerously touchable material doesn’t stop there. We dare you to resist the perfectly buffed patent leathers, the pebbled shark skin and super-smooth croc. Each of course comes in a range of classic makes with left bank and right bank colours.
So which are you – left bank or right bank kind of person? With my love of red it looks like I’ll be sticking to Rive Gauche the next time I’m in Paris!
